In 2020, Hornsea 1 became commercially operational and was the first offshore wind farm to produce over a gigawatt of energy! It is double the size of the previous record holder, Walney Extension and can power well over one million UK homes.
Hornsea 2, entered operation on the 31 August 2022 and was built at the lowest ever contract price for offshore wind in the UK. It surpassed Hornsea One as the world’s biggest offshore wind farm, powering well over 1.4 million UK homes.
Hornsea 3 is currently in construction. Once operational, it will be capable of generating enough power to meet the average daily needs of well over 2 million homes.
We are also exploring the potential to develop a fourth project, Hornsea 4, which is currently in the pre-application phase.
